Transborder landscapes
In partnership with Cal Poly Pomona, EDGEland is excited to co-sponsor another year of the Architectural Association’s Transborder Landscapes studio. This studio focuses on the US/MX Transborder Landscapes, addressing complex socio-political, climate and territorial questions. San Diego and Tijuana face contrasting economies, cultures, and policies, despite the shared landscape. This dual governance led to the demise of the river landscape because of largely opposing agendas between the two nations.
The studio is being co-led by Jimmy Ta who is an alumnus of the Architectural Association in London. His interest in computational systems, master planning, and infrastructural research have led him to explore this complex topic along with his passion for teaching.
Enrollment is open now and the studio starts June 17th. You can learn more about Transborder Landscapes here.
